AIChE Scholarships

The Central Carolinas Section of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers is offering two Academic Awards of $750 each, for the academic year beginning September 2020.

Application Process

All applications are due by April 10, 2020. Interested applicants should complete the application form and return it to Kellie Hedrick, Director of Scholarships for Central Carolinas Section of the AIChE. Presentation will be at a dinner award meeting, sponsored by the Section. Dinner expenses will be covered for the award winners and their families.

We wish to schedule the award ceremony for Summer 2020, but due to current circumstances, the date is yet to be determined.

Applicant requirements:

  • Resident of Mecklenburg and surrounding counties in North or South Carolina
  • Must be a high school senior intending to major in engineering or other technical college major; preference given to Chemistry/Chemical Engineering related programs
  • GPA greater than 3.0, on a 4.0 scale
  • Well-rounded individual with significant extracurricular activities
